Skip the Black Friday lines and hunt for shark teeth on Caledon's Potomac shoreline, 12–2 PM. Rangers explain how fossils form and what can be found at Caledon, then the group takes a wagon ride and short hike to the river to search the beach; bring a strainer to sift if you like. Terrain includes sand, grass and gravel paths. Meet inside the Visitor Center, dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes that may get wet. Paid reservations are required because space is limited: call (540) 663-3861 or stop by the Visitor Center. The program costs $8 per person or $20 per family, plus the $5 parking fee. Children are welcome. Program questions: Caledon@dcr.virginia.gov.
