Colonial Beach's downtown contains a remarkable collection of late 19th and early 20th century architecture. Self-guided walking tour highlights include Victorian-era homes, the original steamboat landing area, town murals depicting the casino era and watermen's life, the historic Dennison Street Inn (home of CB's first mayor), and the Colonial Beach Plaza (a 1900s Victorian mansion). The town's National Register historic district preserves over 100 years of Potomac River resort history.
