One of Virginia's most magnificent colonial plantations, built by Thomas Lee in the 1730s from bricks fired on the property. Stratford Hall was home to two signers of the Declaration of Independence — Richard Henry Lee and Francis Lightfoot Lee — and is the birthplace of Confederate General Robert E. Lee (born January 19, 1807). The estate features a stunning Great House, 7 nature trails with eagle viewing, a working mill, farm animals, and the famous Stratford Cliffs overlooking the Potomac River.
